Biography Marcio Doctor

 
 

Marcio Doctor is a Grammy award-winning percussionist and composer, originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, and based in Hamburg, Germany.

He has recorded and performed with a wide variety of international artists such as Carla Bley, the Brecker Brothers, Vince Mendoza, Bob Mintzer, John Scofield, Jacob Collier, Nikki Iles, Mike Walker, Trilok Gurtu, John Hollenbeck, Patricia Brennan, Matt Moran, Joe Lovano, Quincy Jones, Gwilym Simcock, Peter Erskine, and Jim Beard. 

As a member of the NDR-Big Band (The Hamburg Radio Jazz Orchestra) he has recorded and toured with Maria Schneider, Al Jarreau, Tim Hagans, Michael Gibbs, Uri Caine, Joey Baron, Nikki Iles, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Michael Moore, João Bosco, Bill Frisell, Bobby McFerrin, Pat Metheny, Alex Acuña, Lionel Loueke and Jeff Ballard among many others.

As a composer, he has written, performed, and produced music for radio features, films, theatre, and TV documentaries. His soundtracks have been heard at film festivals worldwide.
